Hawks Finish Perfect in Playoff Round Robin

 

After a 5-11-2 regular season record, the IB Hawks have turned up the heat in the 2023 EHGHL Playoffs and finished a perfect 6-0 in the round robin portion and clinch 1st seed for the semi-finals, after a 7-3 win over Tim Isenor Royal Lepage on Tuesday night.  

Playoff scoring leader, Scotty Sack, led the way once again as he fired three goals and added an assist.  Sack now has 13 goals and 13 assists, for 26 points, in just six games so far.

Tyler LeBlanc and Robert Syliboy each fired a pair to round out the scoring for the Hawks.  Joel Isenor with two and Cory Pettipas with one did the damage for Royal Lepage.

In the second contest of the night, after a perfect 18-0 regular season, the Nine Mile River Bears will enter the semifinals as the #3 seed after a 4-1 win over the Elmsdale Dental Knockouts.

Tyson Aalders, John Benere, Justin Campbell and Darcy Gillis all scored for the Bears, while Darcy Mccabe scored for the Knockouts.

 

The round robin portion of the playoffs wrap up this Sunday as the Ryson Rockets will square off against the Dental Knockouts at 9:00pm and the 10pm game will see Penn Hills and Shooter's face off.

 

The Semi-Finals will take place next Friday night, March 25th, on Ice Pad B starting at 7:00pm.  The #1 seed IB Hawks will take on the #4 seed, Ryson Rockets, while the other match up sees, #2 Penn Hills Raiders take on #3 Nine Mile River Bears
